0About Knickertwist's ~

When I was a little girl my mum used to say "Don't get your knickers in a twist!"

As a design student I thought that if I were to ever start my own studio that I'd call it "Knickertwist's" because everyone around me seemed to be taking themselves far too seriously. It wasn't that I was laxidasical about my work, there just seemed to be far more important things to get worked up and bent out of shape over than whatever it is that other designers fret over.

Looking forward a few years, my husband and I ran a small witchy business under the name "La Bona Dea" (The Good Goddess). It was a lovely name and we loved what it stood for. Unfortunately there were many many businesses with the same name. We decided that we needed to find an identity, a name that would set us apart, a domain that was available... Knickertwist!

And so we've adopted the pseudonym for our online presence, hoping that it conveys a little of who we are. We are not sullen and dull in our beliefs or work. We are a wink and nudge, a little spark, a tiny dash of cheekiness and a bit of a giggle. We do not take ourselves too seriously and believe wholeheartedly that our path should be filled with laughter and joy. We also know that others do not share our opinion and that there may indeed be some knicker twisting going on.

1Meet The Knickertwist's ~

There are three of us in the Knickertwist household...

D "The Little Twist"
Although just a wee lad, he truly is the master of the Knickertwist house. We love him to bits and he makes us laugh, and gives us joy every single day.

"The Missus"
Nichola is the creative force behind this site. She is a formally trained artist and graphic designer inspired by everyday beauty and anything wonderfully quirky. Nichola is also a witchy woman who has been spell casting for over 15 years. Her magickal interests include divination, spell work, folklore, wortcunning (herbal magick) and folk magick.

"Mr. Knickertwist"
Paul earns a living following the wheel of the year as a winemaker. It is his handy work that brings the wands, staffs and wooden artifacts to life. He has a great love of tree lore and runes. He is an old soul and can often be found puttering in the Knickertwist garden mumbling to the trolls who have developed a taste for his green beans.
