Artsty Fartsy ~More Dollies
So I signed myself up for a creepy mini-doll swap on my favourite website craftster.org I created three dolls for three different partners. Here's the profile of the swap...
"To help us celebrate the season of Halloween, All Souls Day, and Day of the Dead, for this swap we will be creating small art dolls or other figures that are approximately in the 3"-6" size range. The theme is creepy, mysterious, dark, otherworldly, ghostly, creepy-cute, just plain offbeat, or otherwise in the "spirit" of the season. Think zombies, skullies, ghosts, spirits, human/animal hybrids, human/robot hybrids."
Here are my creepy creations.
The first doll has a cloth body, with wings instead of arms. Her face is made of paperclay (which I am now in love with) and her crows mask is made of polymer clay. Her hair is yarn and feathers. She is dressed with black satiny material, ribbons and lace. She also carries a wee spirit doll made of wood, spanish moss and paperclay. She is approx. 7" tall, her spirit doll is 2" tall.

The second doll is a mermaid. She is a cloth body doll with a polymer clay face, and yarn hair. She is decorated with beads, ribbons, buttons, glitter and sea shells. She is approx. 6" tall.

The third doll was hard to send away because I loved her grumpy face sooo much. I cheated a bit with her because she ended up being rather taller than she should have been for the swap. With her hat she is almost 11" (rather big for a tiny doll) She has a polymer face, leather hat, cloth body and yarn hair.

I was so inspired by my grumpy witch that I've decided to make an entire coven. They aren't finished yet but here are all their grumpy faces...
