TRANSFORMING YOUR BEDROOM
INTO A SHRINE OF FERTILITY

It took a year of 'trying', and one miscarriage before I decided to appeal to the Goddess and turn to fertility magick. The moment I turned to magick things were different. Using magick gave me a feeling of empowerment. It made me feel as though I was taking some control over the situation and not just wishfully waiting. It was comforting appealing to a female divinity, feeling that she understood and appreciated the anger, sadness and disappointment that I had felt. Magick also gave me a renewed sense of hope and optimism.

There are many forms of fertility magick and I have included here some simple ways to surround yourself with fertility magick. When you are trying to conceive a child, consider using your bedroom as a shrine to fertility. There are a few simple steps that you can take to turn your entire bedroom into a fertility alter.

Red and white candles
Place several candles around your bedroom. Red and white candles are especially effective for fertility magick and candles in the bedroom make for a romantic setting. Just remember to always use caution, never leave candles unattended and extinguish all flames before going to sleep!

Nuts and dates
In days gone by people would have placed these directly upon the bed and made love on top of them. As an alternative place a small dish of nuts or dates beside HIS side of the bed.

Coins
Another item placed upon the bed was coins. Try slipping a few coins between the mattresses or purchase some Chinese lucky coins and sting them above the bed.

Imagery
Hang pictures of fertility images or animals around the room. This could be as simple as placing a bunny sticker on the head board of your bed or a frog photo under your pillow. If you can find a fertility goddess, keep her in eyeshot of your bed on your dresser or smiling from a corner.

Scent
The scent of patchouli, musk, pine and vanilla all have associations with fertility. Dilute some oil in water and lightly scent your sheets using a mister. Or you may choose to burn some incense. Remember, when it comes to scents, less is often far more effective. I reccomend splurging when it comes to smelly stuff like oils and incense. The real deal costs a bit more but is far superior in quality. (Hint: Most of the men I know prefer the real deal when it comes to scents. They are less likely to complain about 'the smell' if it is an all natural product vs. a cheap synthetic perfume.)

... Not just a storage space
Placing items under your bed for fertility magick is a very common idea. I have seen spells calling for everything from lemons and eggs to cucumbers to be placed there to increase fertility. Think of anything kept under the bed as radiating energy up through the mattress and into you. This may be a good place to keep fertility crystals and stones.

Try to make your bedroom a comfortable spot that you are relaxed in and enjoy spending time in. After you make love, spend time lounging in your bed, enjoying being with your mate or just relaxing quietly. Making your bedroom a shrine to fertility shouldn’t cause you stress or remind you of your difficulties, it should remind you of what will be, and encourage you to continue to strive for what you desire.
